You're putting money in front of everything else. That's never a good decision. So, you found counseling didn't fix your problems. If you would have ignored their advice, and separated and gotten a divorce, you would have spent a lot of money too. But on lawyers instead of marriage counselors. At least, you tried to give your relationship a chance. So now in the future, you will always know that you gave it your best shot.
