THAT'S A BIT OF A SHOCKER! I JUST FOUND OUT THAT YOU LIKE MILAN........AND MOST MILAN FANS HATE MANCHESTER UNITED.
I PREFER THE EPL TO THE SERIE A BECAUSE I LIVE IN ENGLAND AND I SUPPORT MANCHESTER UNITED. I ALSO THINK THAT THE EPL IS MORE ATTACKING AND THE SERIE A IS DEFENCIVE. THEIR IS TOO MUCH CHEATING IN THE SERIE A..........THE MATCHFIXING SCANDAL REALLY RUINED ITS REPUTATION. HOWEVER I WOULD STILL SAY ITS THE THIRD BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD AFTER THE EPL AND THE LA LIGA.
YOUR ENGLISH IS BETTER THAN SOME ENGLISH USERS DONT WORRY ABOUT IT :)

Being an Italian living in London....
I think Italian football is fundamentally different than English.
A lot of tactics is involved and games are played more like a chess game, for fear of losing. As a consequence, physical space for players is limited and time to think is very scarce.
This explains the countless interruptions for fouls and the relative lack of goals scored from more than 20 meters away as happens every week in England(also the quality of goalkeepers is a factor, in the Premiership are generally awful,save a couple).
In general Italian football is slower, or better, goes in bursts, and less spectacular and flowing than English football.
But is more effective as four world cups and countless other European trophies demonstrate.

American. It's played faster, and thus more intensely. It's 6 seconds of 22 guys knocking each other's teeth in, and then getting ready to do it again. There is a week of preparation and scheming and healing between the brutal contests. American football checks to make sure you are a man. Soccer is mostly walking around until the ball gets close and then, when someone touches you, flop around on the ground to try to get a yellow card on the other guy. You go jog around while a clock winds down, even if the ball is out of play, and coaches play no significant role in creating a strategy. Bottom line, there is a highly competitive level of women's soccer.

I will tell you something you have sense in supporting Manchester United as I have done for the past 27 yrs and also my mum has supported them for 50 years. But I love Italian football and even though I am english I supported Italy all the way through the world cup and i was so pleased when they won it. They are wonderful players and they are strong.

It's a little too tactical for my liking, but there are at least 2-3 AMAZING goals scored each week in Serie A (Mancini's chip yesterday for Roma against Palermo....youtube it!!!). I watch about 2 matches each weekend from Serie A. I'm a supporter of Roma and TOTTI!!!!

i love Italian soccer. the Italian national team has been my favorite since i was young. i'm also a big Inter fan.
to some extent i have to agree with joanne, the men are beautiful! as a woman it really increases my enjoyment of the game...
