Well, you are clearly delusional, people come here for freedom, if that was the case then Denmark would have a population of 6.8 Billion. The Us really isn't all about Freedom any more unless you are talking about economically. Most Americans I don't think hate Business owners, they hate owners of large business. Meaning people that own companies and make billions of Dollars a year yet layoff workers to keep their wealth constant. It is not like they are laying people off to stay competitive, they fire, so they can retire. I think this is the type of business that people hate. We now, live in a society of corporations and the only way to ever as an individual dig yourself out of the hole is to start your own business, but unfortunately the small business is dead in America. for several reasons, but, the main reasons being 1. the small business cannot compete on price and 2. because they cannot compete on price and the avg. US worker is under paid, even if they do support the entrepreneurial spirit and products of the small business, they cannot purchase goods from them, as they have a limited income. This is not a nationalist stance it is global one. business' are taking over the world and the problem as I said is not people making money, rather it is a select few making large amounts and not distributing it properly. So, If taxes levied on business redistribute the wealth, then that is the precise function of government. Otherwise we are living in a fascist/financial-monarchical world. I don't know about you but, I would rather have a bunch of small business then a New World Order of unchecked monarchies, and its poor serfs?

Yes and plenty of them. The media has deluded the population into believing we have all of this "freedom". Unless you have never left your basement you know this is a lie. A pile of cheap Chinese electronics isn't wealth. But as always there Are those who will drape themselves in an American flag and pretend that reality has no bearing on their small narrow definition of freedom and wealth. Here is an example for you Ask a black friend if you have one to go down to your local Eagles club and get an application.

Not that I have seen. The level of opportunity which exists in the United States is unparalleled. This is why it is so frustrating to watch some people complain about how the deck is stacked against them, or how unfair society is in general. What they are really saying is that it is just too hard. America was built on a spirit of rugged individualism and the belief that with determination, hard work and the smallest amount of government interference attainable that all things are possible for all people. This is as true today as it was 200 years ago. The American Experience is definitely what you choose to make of it.

if you're looking to stroke the country's ego, then no.

if you want a real answer, i think wealth can be looked at in a number of ways. per capita i think Norway or Sweeden is more wealthy.
as far as opportunity, this IS the land of opportunity, and freedom depends on what you consider freedom. Our government is large and intrusive, but it's all relative. I would say we have more freedoms, but Canadians, for example, might say they have more freedoms. Probably places like New Zealand and Australia have more freedoms in terms of a less intrusive government.
