I put a tampon in as usual and it felt weird going in, but I didn't think anything about it. Well when it was time to take it out there was no string to be found so I just thought it had fallen out and I didn't realize it. Then a couple days later I started to smell a foul odor from down there, so I stuck my finger in and I can feel it WAY BACK in there, but I can not get a hold of it. Will it fall out on its own and if so how long will that take. I am just really embarressed that it happened in the first place that I do not want to go to the doctor and just want to know if it will come out. Only serios answers please, I already know how stupid this is, I don't need supid comments. Thanks

You will need to reach up there and pull it out. It will probably be easiest if you squat down. If you still cannot reach it, you will have to go have it removed. You need to see the doctor, anyway, as you have a high chance of developing an infection from having it in there so long.

What is stupid is you being to embarrassed to go to the doctor. You need medical attention NOW! You are at risk of TSS. You should never leave a tampon in beyond 8 hours.
TSS can cause infertility as well as other problems, including death. I've provided informative links about TSS but it is best that you read them after you get back from the doctor/hospital. As soon as you finish reading this you best be on your way.

What that "foul" smell is bacteria. Bacteria can cause an infection. You may be experiencing an infection.

This can lead to Toxic Shock Syndrome. It is the effect of that bacteria going into your blood stream. This can be a very bad thing. It can even be fatal if not treated at all.

Please seek immediate medical attention. Go to a doctor as soon as you can.

Your doctor will remove the item in question and prescribe you some antibiotics.

Although it can be embarassing, it is actually a common thing. You aren't the first and you aren't the last to have this sort of issue. So please seek some medical attention as soon as you can.

Bye

It will not fall out. Honey, Only way I can tell you, you may have to shove out the tampon. If you can't get it out, goes see your doctor. They will pull out tampon. Next time, make sure, they have a string on the tampon. Before you insert it. And make sure, if you insert the tampon in the middle. If you leave the tampon inside so long. It will get infections. Make sure change it more often like 4 to 6 hours.

The tampon will not fall out on its own. You either need to use your fingers to get it out or go to the doctor or ER asap.

You can get sick from leaving a tampon inside you for too long.

You HAVE to go to a DOCTOR NOW! The longer you leave it in, the higher your chances are of getting TSS (which could KILL you!) Trust me, the doctors have removed much stranger things than tampons.

As embarrassing as this is, trust me your gyn has seen worse. We always think things are worse than are... You really need to get it out. You can get TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome). If you are still hesitant to go to the doctor, see if you can get it out yourself by propping one leg on the toilet and really getting in there to see if you can pull it out. The vaginal canal isn't quite as long as we ever think it is, and you may be able to get it out that way. If not- please go to your ob/gyn. This stuff happens, obviously. Don't worry- it will make a funny story in a couple of years!
Good luck, and please get this taken care of- TSS can be life threatening.

Don't wait for it. Immediately go to a doctor, and tell him/her to take it out. It can cause to very severe infections even toxic shock syndrome which can be fatal.
