Not post code or zip code, it appears after those numbers. It is the same number and it appears on several official documents from different places. DVLA, phone bill, council tax - nobody else got one?

It is from Royal Mail
“Mailsort Database” means Royal Mail’s database containing a record of every postcode sector. It assigns to each postcode sector a unique five-digit code.

It could be a routing number. All it does is allow computers to speed up the sorting of the mail so you get your bill faster.
