She was forced into working for the Japanese but in fact did pass on vital intelligence to the Americans.
A very brave woman and misunderstood. any comments?

There was a very good tv prog about her 2 years ago. She said things like 'Dont think your G.I.'s can scare our 3 divisions on Saipan'. I made that up as an example of how she would give intel on Japanese troop movements to the allies. Clever huh? Hope you catch the programme.

I assume you are speaking of Iva Toguri. Tokyo Rose was a generic name given by Allied forces in the South Pacific during World War II to any of approximately twenty English-speaking female broadcasters of Japanese propaganda.
However Iva is the most well known because of the charges the U.S. brought against her when she was able to return.

I haven't heard about passing information on to the U.S. But I do know she refused to broadcast anti-American propaganda. I think she was a brave, honest woman. It's awful she spent six years in prison for crimes she didn't commit. But, I'm glad that she received pardon.

I heard she was misjudged, but didn't hear about the information transfer. Did you have a source for that?

No, I did not know that. I would like to see the source, as that is interesting.

Typical that they kept that information quiet.
