Which one would be best in terms of the database performance? Did anyone ever try to test out this configuration? Thanks.

yes. os on one db on another and page file on another too.
all seperate drives (not partions on 1 drive)

but......

if your using 3 drives, you might as well buy 1 more and run a raid setup (if your motherboard supports it)

your only as strong as your weakest link in a raid setup.
raid copies the structure of the weakest smallest drive onto all 4 HD.
even still, it is much faster than a normal setup

OS on one Data on the other, smaller OS partition as well with the page off of the Hard drive for either,

OS -> just big enough
Data -> however large
Page file -> another physical hard drive on its own.
