well.. it just means that she would be taken away.. that the little girl even found "good" in a train wreck.. She did not tell the woman that she was not actually in the train.. so it was assumed she was.. she'd be taken to a hospital and examined.. and most likely assume she was related to someone that died or something..

It's an ambiguous ending so that you'd sort of assume that what you THINK should have happened did..even if in your own mind.

I try never to think of this movie. It is a festering abomination and even though Gilliam dialed down some of his excesses here, he still is delivering movies that are long on vision and extremely short on coherent plots. This is just another of his nonsensical jumbles of grotesque characters shambling about doing odd things, and I don't think there's any actual "meaning" to be found in any of it, much less the ending. With that said, the young girl who played the lead role gave us a phenomenal performance--truly amazing to watch.

Gosh, I watched that movie just a few months ago and CANNOT remember how the thing ended, so I guess it wasn't that awe-inspiring to me.

(Wait, was it a train wreck or something? Weird, weird film...)
