Each relationship is different and has its own "rules". So you need to talk first about the "rules" before you partake in extracurricular activities you're good.

I would consider that cheating yes. Whether he knows or not doesn't matter. It's whether you are sleeping with someone else or not that defines cheating. In this case you are. Therefore, cheating. Threesomes are different. If it's with your partner and someone else, well I spose that's not a problem then. But if you're partner is not involved in the threeway, well that would be cheating.

Use a different concept than cheating - how about being faithful?
That's something that belongs to you, whether he knows or approves or even encourages it - it's YOUR decision to be faithful, and that's pretty much an all or nothing decision. You are, or you're not.
If you start to ask questions - is THIS cheating, or is THIS cheating - then you have decided in your heart you WANT to cheat, and now you're just looking for the excuse, or the rationalization.

I do not share. When I care enough about a woman to become sexually intimate with her, I know her well and my emotions are very involved at that point in time. My days of loose sex and tricking with a woman only for fun have been gone for a long, long time. I am too straight-laced for most - and thank goodness for that. :) Decreases my risk of sexually transmitted diseases - not to mention the fact that, as long as I am paying attention, it reduces my involvement in "gaming" and the screwy situations that could be harmful/hurtful to me.
I do not judge others who do threesomes - that is their business and not mine. I say be safe and have fun.
Peace.

Threesomes seem so diluted. Can you concentrate on anything you are doing? If you are in relationship with someone and go out for sex perhaps it is not so good of a match?

Nope, cheating is behind the back, with permission and threesomes, foursomes, is just fun.

If he knows and is okay with it I would say no it's not cheating. Cheating is when you are doing something behind their back and hoping you don't get caught. Just be careful, you never know when his attitude might change.

if he knows and is ok with it, then no, it's not cheating. it's an open relationship. 3somes are not cheating either, it's consensual.
