My purpose in this life is to leave this world better than it was when I came into it. I try to do as much good as I possibly can. I'm trying to raise my children and step children to be good unselfish people and trying to teach them to treat others as they want to be treated. Also my purpose in life is to try and be as much like Jesus as I can. I don't always succeed but I do try.

If u had given a hint of the purpose with which u r living, then I could have elaborated on it in comparison with my purpose of living. Anyway take this - Most human beings are born "accidentally" in this world - an end product of an amorous lust between a man and a woman. So, birth became an accident, purpose of living became an option and death is imminent. U choose your destiny. Do not bother about understanding how and with what purpose the other people are living because you are god unto yourself.

I had a major heart problem not long after I turned 21. I was lying on the hospital bed being told that there was a 1/100 chance that the procedure to treat me would stop my heart, and due to the nature of the problem they could not revive me. I think my family was more worried than I was. I just accepted that it was out of my hands and nothing I could do would change the odds, so I just relaxed, laid back and waited to see what happened. There were delays at the hospital due to a tardy cardiosonographer. The resident looking after me got impatient after about 10 hours and did it himself, then immediately scheduled me for surgery. Two hours later I'm lying in my bed in the Cardiac Care Unit, knowing that a dedicated doctor's skill and devotion to his vocation saved my life. The idea of a God being involved never crossed my mind.

I have. I think that everybodys' purpose in general is to be happy, regardless of what makes each individual person so.

I think that telling you what my specific purpose is is silly and doesn't do anything for anybody, since something like that should only be looked at on a much larger scale.

All I can say is that( having the second sentence in mind) you should make sure that you try and spread contentment and glee. I'm positive that if you do, it will be returned to you.

they say life is a drama and we are all artists playing our roles.is it? think about a man who has changed a hundred professions! think about a terrorist who had never the education or self realisation to search his purpose or ask this question itself. life s a waste.
but buddy we are born ...no going back!
if u try to make the most of it .....a few people may remember u or not . ur inventions may facinate or help the next generations. aye we are simply carrying a baton of human progression in general.
knowingly or unknowingly we are all passing the baton with a few progressions a few tips to our next generation.

to answer ur question....thats the purpose of living.
there are two angles u view
to live happy and make merry
to live happy ,make merry and also have some goals which will boost ur happiness.
also learn to help a needy,or a person who is unable to search his happiness and your happiness triples.
thats life!

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (Nobel Laureate, mathematician and philosopher)

So unless we assume God exists, no one on this world have any purpose.

Those who reject God often speak about creating their own purpose but what they really do is to invent some activity that will make them feel good about themselves and/or to forget that they have a meaningless existence. This is one typical feel-goodism: "My purpose in this life is to leave this world better than it was when I came into it. "

But if we accept that God exists, then seeking God is far more important than finding something to do that makes us feel good.

The Christian idea about purpose is not to leave this world better than it was, the Christian idea is that we seek God and allow Him to reveal Himself to us. We do that by obeying His command to love our neighbor for where love is, there God is also.
