What are some of the biggest problems of inventing a time machine, besides the obvious technological inability of humans so far.

There is no evidence that a time machine can or will exist...at least not one that will allow us to travel into the past. If travel into the past will be feasible some day in our future, where are the time travelers today from our future? And, up to this point in time, no one has observed time travel into the past by subatomic particles in the labs. So even at the wierd quantum level, there has been no indication of time travel into the past.

Finally, there is no legitimate theory that posits feasible time travel into the past. Even string/M theory suggests time travel into the past through worm holes is possible, but not feasible. [See source.] Its not feasible because mankind cannot produce and control the kinds of energy needed to create worm holes.

But, and this is a big BUT, time travel into the future is not only feasible, it's been observed. Time dilates (spreads out) when a framework (like a spaceship or a subatomic particle) approaches the speed of light (v --> c).

In which case time observed on the moving framework seems to pass normally but when observed from outside that framework, time seems to slow down. Or another way to look at it, time outside the framework seems to speed up when an observer inside the moving object looks outside.

Thus, for example, Capt. Kirk and his crew could go out on their star trek for what seems like a year on the Enterprise. And if they traveled near light speed during that trek, they'd come back to a time on Earth some hundreds if not thousands of years in the future because time on Earth was speeding by faster there than on the Enterprise. They will have travelled into the future, but have no way to get back to their own time.

Time dilation is not just a theory, it has been observed in the colliders when particles reach near light speed. In which case the frequency of decay slows down, indicating the slow down of time on those particles. So, as I said earlier, time travel into the future is feasible...at least for subatomic particles. And, if they can do it, why not us some day?

I think that if a time machine was invented, inevitably it would begin the destruction of humanity, and at the last moment before the world was destroyed, the inventor would get it up to 88mph, speed back to the past, and kill himself so that it would never even exist in the first place. This would be the pattern of invention and destruction to be carried out for all eternity. So, logically, we will never know if it would be possible.

I gave a thumbs up to eyeonthescreen.
His answer was the most comprehensive.
It is also interesting to note that time & space when distorted will give rise to gravity. Somehow mass displaces time & space and that's what would cause objects to seemingly fall into each other. In the event horizon of a black hole time will seem to stand still from the outside. Whatever object falls into the black hole will disappear from our Universe. I speculate that it just returns to where it came from in the 11th dimension. If the Big Bang theory is correct and the Universe came from this source we can assume it is in it's nature to go back to it. (Another topic for discussion)
As for the Time Machine. I doubt that it can ever be built. Because of the tremendous energy that it would take to accelerate objects to faster than the speed of light. However, we may be able to unravel 'gravity' and build 'anti-gravitational' devices one day. Which may lead to creating small windows of distorted space which may be considered a 'Time Machine'. It's all speculation here.

Thanks for the interesting Q

Yes I believe that one day time machine will get invented some day in future. All that we need a time machine which has the capacity to go in the speed of light in fourth dimension. now okay . If we have invented time machine also we have to open time portal .

A machine of sort was already invented. However, it will only make time move forward very rapidly and with potential consequences. Drink a few beers, and you can wake up in the future, not knowing what day or time it is.

i would like to think yes, but i know no. think logically about it. if someone in the future created a time machine, don't you think they already would have visited us in the present (being their past)?

Time does not exist, there is no past or future, everything happens simultaneously and instantaneously, so no there will never be a time machine, sorry.
