Not sure what "putrid" but by the way you "put it" I am sure it is not good....you can look at the Phillies of 1964 and the Red Sox of 1978 as comparison....the Phillies of 1964 really should top the list....they were something like 6 to 7 up games with about 12 games left....the next 7 were at home and Gene Mauch went with Bunning and I think his name was Short on two days rest and used them the rest of the way....the lost the title by one game.....no wild card back then!!....of course the 13 1/2 games that the Red Sox had on the Yankees in August of 1978 comes a close second(they choked so bad they had to win the last 7 in a row to get to the one game playoff(Bucky Dent game).....but 1964 Phillies beat the Mets of 2007....what goes around comes around....now here are the Phillies doing the chasing and someone else doing the choke!!

The White Sox bullpen is and was the worst in baseball this year. They blew so many leads and lost so many games. At least the Mets bullpen has them in a playoff race. However, like one other guy said, I'm really rooting for the Phillies to make the playoffs and maybe even win the division if the Mets keep this up!

I have to say my beloved White Sox have the worst bullpen. I heard one stat that the bullpen was 5-14 with an era over 9 for the month of May. Sox starters were pitching great and then with no offense and a bullpen melt down they were out by May.

The White Sox bullpen made sure early in the year that they wouldn't even have a chance towards the end of the season.

At one point in time the Sox starters had the most quality starts only to have their bullpen blow it. Their injuries and no offensive support did not help.

I feel for you however, but I'm pulling for the Phillies because of Arron Rowand and Iguchi are there now.

They are killing the fans. This is the worst thing to go from a comfortable lead to a blood bath

Obviously, you haven't seen the Orioles bullpen this year.
