I cant seem to figure out how to calculate it. The car could do 26 miles per gallon. Would the gas cost?

Divide the miles (721) by the miles per gallon (26) to get gallons used.
That is 721/26 = 27.7 gallons.
Next is to multiply the gallons by the cost per gallon.
Around here gas has gone down to $2.499 so you multiply 27.7 x $2.499 to get $69.29 exact.

So figure that as about seventy dollars gas cost for that driving.

First you need to divide 721 by 26...which is 27. So you need 27 gallons to go 721 miles. If, for example, gas is $2.77 a gallon like it is near me, then you multiply 27x2.77...and you get $76.80. So you would need to spend $76.80. Hope I helped.

721/26 = 27.73 gallons to make the trip
***AAA reports the average cost per gallon to be 2.811 per gallon
27.73*2.811 = $77.95
