I read in abook that dreaming is a self theraphy our unconcious minds create for us when it feels a need. That we really need to express something in a certain way which in our regular lifes we are unable to express. So does it mean if we have no dreams at night that we are perfectly happy with our lifes?

Jung called these compensatory dreams (those which express smth...).
But it's not a rule that no dreams mean perfectly happy life. Those may actually be dreams you can no longer recall...

Nah, system doesn't work like us as that its not set to be at max ever time you go to sleep, sometimes the issues you'll confront are almost timeless in their importance, or at the least old, like form childhood. Are they can as recent as that day. Also we don't remember ever dream we have, sometimes even our conicious does things we don't know, which is kind of scary really, how do you divid it then. But its generally understood we dream every night. Sometimes it seems that it isn't prudent we remember anyways for it to be helpful. Every had a bad day, a dreamless night, and woke up feeling great for no reason? Or even visa-versa? So really the mechinizm for it isn't perfect in the way we'd like to see it.... I think this mostly due to the fundementals of therapy that its all about acceptance, and we in our own minds accept alot more then we could ever truly be concious of at one time.....
