This question was inspired by a man I saw this morning with a spider's web tattoo covering his entire face. .

........He must have had an occasional regret about that?

Drsalsacroata: Havn't got one, wouldn't mind one or two subtle ones that meant something though.

my friend Taff has a spider web on his face, back in the 80's it was cool, but now his skin has stretched and he's got older, it looks bad on him, i do have a small tattoo on my right shoulder which was originlly a pink kitten, i had it tattoo'd over with some roses and a scroll with a name in it...I KNOW i do regret it now as i am in my 40's and it's not lady like at all, plus it looks trashy when i wear off the shoulder garments, i have to wear a shawl or a scarf to hide it, i don't like it at all...i wish that i had never got it...especially one with a name in it....silly me...that's what i get for being a know it all as a teen....

Hahaha this is funny. The only tattoo I'll probably regret if I make it to 80 is my cupcake, because it's near my boob. I got it because I LOVE BAKING! My only other tattoo is my "C'est La Vie" tattoo on my shoulder and I doubt I'll ever regret it. A quote about life is pretty much timeless.

I like them. I have a Chinese symbol on my upper arm. I was told that it means "to do your best". I wouldn't mind another one, like a band around my wedding finger. I had damaged my wedding ring at work and when it is repaired , I wouldn't want to wear it for worry of damaging it again! But I absolutely hate having a "naked " finger!!!
Occasionally I regret my tattoo, but since it can be covered up, the regrets are usually dismissed. My sister has 4 cat paw prints on her lower back which I think look really good.

Good question, and what interesting answers!

Me, personally? I think what people want to do with their bodies is their business. My cousin has tattoos that he regrets intensely, but I think it's part of him, and part of his past.

I sort of want one. I'd like it where I could see it, and I'd hope it'd be inspriring -- maybe a butterfly, or a small flower. (-: But people change! What happens 20 years from now when I'm no longer inspired?

I think the semi-permanent tattoos (magic marker, or mehendi) are a better answer. They last a few weeks, but then they disappear, and you can express yourself a new way. (-: I've never expressed myself that way, though. Maybe I'll draw a little heart on my wrist at work today (-:.

ok i love tattoos, but the spider web across the face is pushing it, lol but hey if he likes it the more power to him. i have two tattoos so far. well its two combined into one. (two diff. sessions) its a cross on my lower back with a ribbon wrapped around it with my moms initials and it has roses on the sides of the cross. im getting another one next week on my foot that reads in latin "amor est vitae essentia" which is "love is the essence of life" in english with a pink lily on each side. for those who have tattoos, sure there are going to be a few that will or already do regret getting it. but for most people, our tattoos have a specific and very deep meaning behind them, so most of us dont and will never regret them. i dont and never will

i have two tattoos....on each upper-arm part...left the "taz" and right the "Pegasus"....i always wanted to have tattoos, since i was a teenager. And with 26...i made my wishes come true..The past years, tattooes have become more a fashion...and everybody wanted a tattoo...and talking about tattooes like "body-suits" or the whole face...well, thats defenitely too much, in my opinion...the most people, i have shown my "skin-art", said:
"Oh..why did you do that...thats not good..." and you should have watched theyre faces....the left one "taz", thought i like the idea and colours...i wouldnt have made it, when i think about it now. Thats the one i regret now...but, however...

Both Tattoo´s have a symbolic meaning, a spiritual meaning:
TAZ stands for the "Humour" and funny side of life...and the "Pegasus" stands for Liberty, freedom and independence.....

what about you `? you have one...like..dislike?

I have an ear of wheat tattoo on my back. It's my own design. People rarely see it and I haven't looked for ages. It was inspired by a dream in which I died.

My girlfriend has an eye between her breasts. It's quite amusing to see pervy people get disturbed by that, if she has a low slung top on.

I wouldn't go daft with it. It is a personal thing.

I really am not cool with them but after my third bought with cancer I had an old Irish family rosary tattooed around my ankle and the beads are wrapped around my ankle, three beads lead down to the cross. Each bead leading to the cross signifies a time I had beat cancer. It's very pretty and I get many, many compliments. I think they are cool if they symbolize something important.
