Yangon, Myanmar (formerly known as Rangoon, Burma) is the largest city and former capital of Myanmar. It is located on the Yangon River about 20 miles (32km) from the sea, in the South-West of that country.

It is bordered by China in the North, Laos in the East, Thailand in the South-East, the Andaman Sea in the South, the Bay of Bengal in the South-West, Bangladesh in the West. and India in the North-West.

That is also called Burma and it is east of India (on the right hand side of Bay of Bengal). Yangon is probably Rangoon in the earlier maps.
