I am so happy that more and more people are standing up and giving the Monks a break. They can't do it all, but at least they started it. I wish I was healthy enough to go help and march. All they want is what most of us have, freedom and the right to speak and worship as we want.

I just hope something good comes out of it and not too many people are hurt. I am glad the world is watching.

I think its a real shame that untill very recently we werent told as a nation about the isues in Burma, I will openly admit, I had no idea.
I think they should be getting help from the international community the same as Zimbabwae to overthrow the oppresive regieme they live under.
Unfortunatly this wont happen, when america and the UK went into Iraq, we claimed it was to liberate the people of Iraq and to overthrow a dictator. It wasnt it was a mix between a hunt for oil and making up for a certain someone dad's mistakes!
Its so distressing for me that we have, if anything made life worse in Iraq, but where the people of the country, particuarly in Burma, are crying out for help from another source, they want to be free, we impose sanctions and do nothing else, Sanctions will only effect the people of the country, not the people in power!
Its a really sorry state of affaris and yet another thing which makes me feel quite shitty about the country i live in and the politicians who make my decisions

Yes, I'm thrilled about the monks, and don't forget the Buddhist nuns as well, they're marching too. I'm also furious and sad that those bast*rds are trying to kill the marchers!

I too wish there were something I could do to support them, but at least my government (Australian) is doing what they can. [I'm unaware of what other governments are doing because I've been sick in bed and not listening to the news. I'm NOT implying Aust. is the only govt acting!]

Who here on P/S would put their butts in front of a Burmese soldier. Yes, it takes actual backbone and desire to DO, and nothing to run our mouths in safety here.(myself included). Just as our soldiers in the Mid-East are doing for us right now-protecting us from those who would squelch freedom just as the Burmese Army would. I am, of course, hoping the best for the Monks and Burmese people. ** American protesters-- You see how protest is dealt with in other realities--No, the police here only subdue you when Laws are broken.

You are a total naive idiot.

1- the monks are NOVICE which means APRRENTICE which means serve for less than one year
They wear scarlet and their head is not yet tanned.
REAL MONK WEARS BROWN.

2 Freedom- Mynamr people have
3- Right to speak can
- Right to criticise government- cannot

Worship- can

You idiot colonials do not comprehend- the people protesting are the ethnic parasites you imported as you lick-spittles to your former colony.

Mynamar today has empty streets

I think the military Government there will eventually have to give in, because people all over the world can see these kinds of things now. World pressure needs to be exerted on that government to stop killingpeople who are unarmed & just want to be free.

I am so proud of them. I am also very very worried for them. There is no way this will end except by violence......they have to do it....I hope they will be okay.

We need China to step in...but they won't do it....I hope they can be convinced somehow.

I feel their pride. I have a sense of guilt for us. It's a bit annoying that we have not done our best to help them beforehand.

I feel very pleased and frightened for them.
