It would appear that way. I'm sure there will be some negative spin put on this......

Obviously. You now see the front runners in the Dem presidential field almost committing troops in Iraq until 2013.

I am stunned by the success in the Anbar province. Even as an Iraq war optimist I had given up on that area being a lawless area of trouble for an extended period of time.

The success there and elsewhere is absolutely astounding. It took some time though for the Iraqi's to realize that the insurgents suck, and the MNF troops are actually there to help them move forward.

They are killing a lot of bad guys and have been.

I wonder what the nationality figures look like for those they can ID? If the guy is not Iraqi, you can not call him an insurgent. He is a foreign terrorist. If he is attacking innocent civilians, mosques and market places, he is a terrorist.

Yes, how many civilians have been killed? I would bet the bad guys have wiped out a hell of a lot more than we have. This is the only reason i support us being there. We are killing the bad guys. Is it worth it all? I really don't know.

How many civilians were killed during that time?

We have heard reports that the U S doesn't count soldiers shot in the back of the head and all kinds of ways that our government has skewed the numbers from deaths to costs of this war.
So, how many of those insurgents were actually Iraqi civilians? It is a fair question !

It all depends on the recruiting efforts of those staffing the insurgents. This could go on for decades as long as there are people convinced that the infidel needs to be removed from their sacred land.
