He was played by Malcolm McDowell last season, but D.L. was supposed to have killed him.

He was a very rich man who hired Jessica to kill people, bought all of Isaac's paintings, was buying Nathan Petrelli's political office and had the hero ability to heal people.

He and Nathan's mom were all for letting Peter explode and destroy New York last season.

Linderman was one of the original members of The Company (that HRG worked for). He was basically a Vegas mob guy who also had powers (his was the ability to heal). He was heavily involved with the Petrelli family and contributed a lot of money to Nathan's political campaign. He thought he had "bought" Nathan, but it turned out Nathan was working secretly for the Feds. When Linderman kidnapped Micah, to ensure Nathan's election, Nikki and DL came to recognize him; Linderman shot DL, but when he went to hurt Nikki, DL reached through is skull and squeezed his brain, effectively squeezing the life out of him. I don't think we've heard the last of what all he did, even though he's dead.

That;s more of a "was" as he was killed last season.
He was a very wealthy man who was pulling the strings behind the scene to get a lot of things done, mostly to see that the world blew up. He was trying to be in control. It seemed as if he was in cahoots with Peter's mother to try and get his way, which obviously didn't work.
He was played by Malcolm McDowell, and as I found out, he was only seen in two episodes because they didn't have the money to pay him to appear in more episodes. Guess as the show is such a big hit they will have more money coming their way for this season.
