I was a trophy... I couldn't curse, and wasn't allowed to watch r rated movies, I wasn't allowed to wear blue jeans, and always had to be "presentable with make-up". I was 19 at the time and i'm sad to say this guy bought my attention and affection. He would buy me jewelry or whatever other random thing i said i liked. He even bought me a car and gave me a bank account with $10,000.00 in it. after six months I left. I was tired of being bought and not being me.

Yes, try being married for 13 years! Always wanting to control every decision, even to the point of where I would go and what I would do to the most extreme degree. "When are you coming back from the store?" If I said longer than 20 minutes, there was an issue. Live and learn!

Yes. Well my ex boyfriend was abusive so the entire relationship was passed on his controlling factors. At first it was just the simple stuff, where are you? Who are you with? Then he became the type of controller who would make you feel bad about going out and eventually it came down to the point where he wouldn't let you go out, always had an excuse or some reason to stay in the house. I remember he broke about ten cell phones until eventually I stopped purchasing them and didn't have a cell phone. He'd tell my friends I'd said bad things about them so they wouldn't want to hang out and he'd have me all to himself. Ummm, oh if we got into an argument in the car he'd make me walk to the destination if we were in his car....I can go on for days.........e-mail me if you need to talk or want more details!

Pretty much all my exs were controling and in most cases its the reason that we broke up. Just having to know where u r all the time and who u r with and getting suss everytime they see u talking to some other guy. It really gets annoying

Yes, he didn't last long! He insisted I go everywhere with him, just drop what I was doing and go. Wasn't allowed out with my friends, and at 18 I wasn't going to put up with that sh*t. Good looks just weren't enough there.

Thankfully, no. But I know of some friends who did - they couldn't talk to certain people (opposite sex), had to know where they were all the time, what they were doing, couldn't leave house without partner, ordered dinner for them without their knowledge (they didn't like what he ordered). Yuck.

For about 5 minutes. He said," give me your keys. I'll drive."
Yea right!
I'll do almost anything on a first date. But don't touch my car!

I married her & I'd rather not say the things she does, because it's embarassing to tell how I let myself be used.

Yes, they had to have their way 100% of the time, and I dumped them as soon as it came out.
