No, he shouldn't retire quite yet. The reason he sounds this way is probably because he knows he's having fun made of him now - so he's slowing the pace in an attempt to sound more competant.

Maybe. I feel kind of bad for him. Every once in a while he'll make an excellent point but sometimes he's just babbling and talking in circle. Or he's saying the "Captain Obvious" thing. I know he's always kinda been like that but it's getting worse. It seems harder for Al to keep him on track, lately. He's really becoming a caricature of himself. Sometimes, SNF it's like watching an SNL skit.

it might be close to time, maybe after this season or maybe after the next. He does say some obvious things, and kind of seems like he is just filling in time. It's weird because it's not like he doesn't know football he really does obviously, with playing, coaching, and being a commentator.
