I set my own trends. I've always been sort of a non-conformist.
Besides, if those who set the "Hollister" or "American Eagle" trend were to jump off a cliff, what would those who followed that trend do?
People are like sheep.

Even if you follow your own, it's still based on a trend somewhere.
Lets Say...
You make your own clothes. You are following fabric trends unless you make your own fabric also.
Lets Say...
You make your own music. You are following trends of modern technology because the equipment you have to buy to record music is 20th century or you can never expect to air it on the radio

Lets not say (lol) but do you get my drift
I do my own thing but when I feel like it. I keep up with the trends at my own pace

A little of both. I live in rural Virginia so I cant follow the worlds trends but so much. I do try to listen to world music, especially the stuff coming out of the UK.

We make our own world. We choose what is important to us from all that is available. What I have chosen is not the typical popular path, though I would like to think I am following certain positive trends like - becoming more healthy or making an effort to green up our household and environment.

I am not a trend follower.....I call those people sheep, they just follow the herd and all look the same. I like what I like!

I can't afford the trends of the world so I have no choose but to make up my own.
But I like it like that.
