if you keep having eye contacts with someone else does that mean that that person likes you or is that just a coincedence?

in sociology, it is assumed that a symbol, an eye contact with another individual has a plurality of meanings that it may bring depending on the context and situation that appropriates it.

For example, an opposite sex stood with you on an elevator, both of you standing facing each other, looks at you at the eye, this may bring different meanings. It could be that he/she finds you physically attractive (body build, perfume, facial features, grooming); could be that he/she thinks you've met before; you have offended him/her in some ways; or it could be that you remind him/her of someone. perhaps you could identify the intent of the eye contact on thinking about the situations that a possible intention of such behavior applies.

Depends on situation and person. Can't say blankly. May be or may not be. Usually can have somethings. The level can't be the same.
