Trish, you have a point.

I remember a story on the History Channel about gays in history. Before it was acceptable for homosexuals to exhibit their sexuality, they had to find more creative outlets to express their feelings. They showed scenes from some movies that in retrospect are hilarious, like a serious Western, where one (suspiciously good looking) cowboy is asking another (suspiciously good looking) cowboy about his new gun, and then he strokes it.

A lot of people think that the Batman tv show had a lot of gay undercurrents. Batman never falls for Catwoman, you know. And he lives with his younger "ward", Robin? (hey, besides Francis, "Robin" is probably the most unisex name there is).

When I was young, parents used to encourage their children to emulate Olympic athletes, such as the ice skaters. Yeah..... figure skaters (wink, wink) Can you imagine any mother nowadays saying, "Billie, put on some Lycra. I want you to be just like that nice figure skater we just saw on the Olympics."

With gays in the closet, commonplace things such as the Cub Scounts and the Boy Scouts would be a lot easier to manage. Nowadays, everyone has to stridently scream for their right to be different.

On the flip side, fashion is much better than when I was young. Women wouldn't have Gucci, Prada or Jimmy Chao if it weren't for gays, because gays wouldn't have been out of the closet enough to take fashion so far forward.

What do gay people have to do with me? Gee, I have too many bills, my car won't start today, there's a war going on, but you know, if the gays just stayed in the closet, none of those things would happen.

I don't think they should stay in the closet, but I think they should stop intentionally denegrating anything they don't like, e.g. the Last Supper.

Some may, apparently you do. But nobody with a decent brain and a good set of values thinks it was better when people were scared that they would lose their jobs, homes, families and lives if people knew who they really were.

What kind of hateful creature are you?

Sen. Craig - there's an example of a closeted gay. Do you want that in your family?

To answer your question: No I don't!

No, it would be better if they received medical treatment, instead of being treated like some kind of a protected species.
