what i would like to see is baseball go ahead and do the NFL playoffs format ad 2 more teams and let the 2 Best records get a bye past the first round. Just imagine brewers, cubs, diamond backs, mets, padres and Phillies all in the playoffs right now... that would be fun to see. or how bout Detroit and Minnesota going the rest of those AL playoff teams... i don't know about you but i would love to see some quick 3 game series... please let me know what you think

Bad idea.

The more teams you add, the less the regular season means.

The purpose of playing the amount of games they do, is to get the BEST teams and weed out the less deserving teams for the playoffs.

It's worked GREAT for 100 years, why change it?

The NFL does that because they only play 16 games and a few key injuries can keep a very good team from the playoffs. MLB has a 162 game schedule, which should be enough time to work through any problems, and the importance of doing well during the regular season would be diminished if more teams were added to the playoffs. A good team could shut down with a month to go and rest all their stars all to the detriment of the fans that come to see them play.

Yes, that is a great idea because baseball's playoff format sucks. It's basically the same teams every year in the playoffs. Only 4 teams in each league in the playoffs sucks. There needs to be 3 division winners and 3 wildcard teams, not just 1. That would make the playoffs a whole lot more interesting in baseball.

think about how much longer it would be if you added more teams!! It works in the NFL because they play just one game but baseball does not!! We would gt to see the World Series at the beginning of Nov when its too cold and most stadiums you wouldnt be able to play in unless its a dome!! Which means alot of teams even if they were the best still wouldnt get home field advantage!!!

Better idea; get rid of the playoffs complety and go back to the old days of the team that wins the most games in their league wins the pennant and gets to play in the World Series.
Baseball doesn't need a playoff system at all and in fact a playoff system is detrimental to the game because it can and does make champions out of mediocre teams-like last years 82-80 Cardinals.
The beauty of the old system was that there were no mediocre pennant winners or mediocre World Series champions.

No. They would be playing baseball until Christmas. I remember when each league had 2 divisions, east & west & the 2 division winners played each other in play-offs. Since they expanded the # of teams, it's okay but baseball doesn't need to add any more teams to play-offs

Most teams wouldn't want to sit around a week and not play, they would get cold. Besides, the Braves and Rockies would be in ahead of the Brewers.

No way. There are enough playoff teams as it is. I'm a big believer in doing away with a wild card team.

I say go back to no wild card with 2 Divisions in both leagues. Move Milwaukee back to the American League.

If you add more playoffs they'd be playing into November.

No. If baseball change it's rules to the NFL standards, we would be looking at the world series around thanksgiving.

no way baseball isnt football and that much time off would kill a baseball team in football you get pounded on and the time off helps to get healthly but baseball they would just get rusty it may help the pitchers but it would kill position players they would see in game pitching for a week and a half and that would be tough to catch up on
