I think this is the closest a man can get to being gay without being gay. What happend to good ol hard men... rugged and born leaders (just like the spartan men in the movie 300). I think this is what happens when you let a female take control over a man. No wonder women keep on asking... Where have all the real men gone. Haha better be careful what you ladies wish for. LOL.

for those who dont know...

What is a metrosexual man?

# is a modern, usually single man in touch with himself and his feminine side;
# grooms and buffs his head and body, which he drapes in fashionable clothing both at work or before hitting an evening hotspot;
# has discretionary income to stay up to date with the latest hairstyles, the newest threads, and the right shaped shoes;
# confuses some guys when it comes to his sexuality;

etc....

One of my very good friends is a total metrosexual. He has his MBA and makes a pretty decent living as an IT PM (and he's only 34... all the PMs in my office are in their 50's). He only wears Diesel jeans and Prada sunglasses and shops exclusively at Holt Renfrew.

I find him sooooo unattractive. Then again we're good friends, so maybe that's why I'm not attracted to him... I don't really know, there's just something about him that really turns me off.

BUT, he gets so. many. women. I think he has slept with more women in the last six months than most men sleep with in their lifetimes. Whenever we go out, girls are calling him or new girls come out with us or he goes home with a girl.

He is also from South Africa and has a great accent, so that might be part of the attraction for those women.

Do you not read history, this is not a new phenomenon. Dandies were part of this culture as well as some other euro cultures...I suggest that instead of blaming this on women you look to your own male history in the world and find out that the rugged male you are describing may be a cultural phenomenon and not the other way around

I argue that they're the closest you can get to gay without being gay - that would be a bisexual man i.m.o.

I, personally, like men that are well-groomed. I think there's something wrong with society when we start saying "Men can't do that - it's a woman's thing!" and vice versa. People are people - screw gender, lol.

Well groomed men is good. But I have nothing to comment against metro sexual men. Never heard of this word before. Man is better being a man but a man who is neat hygienic and gives a damn about his hygiene and looks is very good.

I think it okay for men to "groom" themselves and indulge in some decent hygiene every now and again; after all I don't wand my husband to smell like he never showers or look like just rolled out of bed; however I do think some take it too far.

I don't think the avarage women wants a man that is constantly primping more than she does.

Personally, I'm attracted to men that look like men. I can't stand those waxed/tweezed eyebrows, especially. Men should be clean and take care of themselves, but some of those metro guys look gay to me. Some look like they take more time in the mirror then us ladies do...lol

I love metros. They always give me a laugh. The "good ol' hard men" usually aren't worth my time.
