actually this is one of the easiest things to do on the computer. since you were able to post this question you should be able to learn to do this in about 5 minutes. do a search for embroidery designs. go to the site. take a look at the sites. when you see a design for free just click on it. you will get a pop up screen that asks to to open, save or cancel. click on save. the next thing that pops up you will be able to decide where to save your design. i would create a separate folder to save your designs in. in fact if you will probably want several folders to save designs in. most of the designs you save will be in zip format. you probably have winzip on your computer. your format is hus so any file ending in .hus is an embroidery file you can use on your machine. i will give you a site to start with it is Designs by SiCK Embroidery Library
they give away 49 free designs a day. they also have a club that is very reasonable to join and you can download every design on their website for either 6 or 12 months. good luck. if you have anymore questions send me an e-mail.

Any questions I have ever had concerning sewing, embroidery, quilting and computing and embroidery software were all answered on that site. You can certainly email me for more info on the above

Have you made the changes in 3D configure for a direct connection to the machine? If not you will need to make changes in either send one (1) or send two (2). Then that will enable you to
download directly to the machine in 3D software, this is really easy change to make.
My concerns are the D1 uses a USB stick also and you can make the changes the same way but to a USB stick, then download to them.
