Medieval priests and monks killed over this one. Salvation, ran the argument, should be the result of our actions - most especially, our actions towards the "others". Recently, I visited the Nazi Death Camp known to us as Auschwitz-Birkenau. The Nazis killed 1.1 million people there - more than a quarter of a million during the month that I was born. On a plaque there now is this: "He who saves one life saves the whole world." I am very sorry to tell you that I firmly believe this: there is no salvation possible, except thru helping others.

It's a thought which is asked to work out to create a general atmosphere in and around the society/universe by helping each other, it does not directly indicates that the person whom u have helped will in turn help you/or only you. the person who is helped by u, will help other person who he finds in problem, and the third person who is helped by second person, will help the new fourth one, and this way there will be huge network & atmosphere of helping each other, and in this process any day first person is being help with some one. so it is said "he who wants to help himself should help others".

By helping others you are actually doing something for yourself. You feel good if you have done something for someone else. You may learn something from helping others. At some point, when you need help, others may help you. What goes around comes around... meaning if you are putting help out there, it will come back to you. Maybe one of the people you helped, in turn helped someone else and that person will help you in the future. The effect just snowballs. My advice is help anywhere you can... it will come back to you at some point, I promise.

Hmmm have you ever helped someone?
Whether it be with something like homework, or even helping them carry grocery bags to their car.
It always gives you a sense of pride and happiness that you made someone else's day a little easier.
It helps your confidence and self-esteem.
You feel that you made a small difference in the world.
Well atleast I do, but of course I can't speak for everyone.

Be kind to the people you meet while climbing the ladder of success. You'll meet them all again on the bumpy trip back down.
Same lesson, but with a free metaphor thrown in.

It means we use other people's problems in order to gain good feelings for ourselves. Notice the phrase doesn't start with helping others, it starts with our own needs.

Think along the lines of "what goes around, comes around". Or even think of it as laying out some good karma groundwork for yourself!

i believe that has to do with generosity and not expecting things in return but being generous out of a genuine desire to help people and in turn that will build your praise and gain.
