I always thought it was sung by Nicholas Lyndhurst, all these years. It is in fact sung by John Sullivan, the writer. Did anyone else think it was Nicholas Lyndurst?

Tinkerbell, tell us your funny words!! I've just got the box set as I'm 8 months pregnant and very bored now, the baby starts kicking whenever the theme tune comes on, it's so funny!!

OK, after doing a bit of research, Chas and Dave were asked to do it initially but they turned it down and it is a popular misconception that Mr Lyndhurst sings it as it does sound remarkably like him.

Blue - Eric Clapton did the 12 inch remix version with Mickey Pierce and Jevon on backing vocals.

I did too! I was talking about this with my husband just the other day actually. I was always convinced it was Nicholas Lyndhurst, it sounds so much like him. I was quite disappointed to find out it was John Sullivan!

I saw the programme on TV about an hour ago, listing the top most favourite scenes from Only Fools and Horses. Of course, my favourite won, 'falling through the bar'. It still has me in stitches. Second was 'the wrong chandelier', just as funny now as it was then. It's the timing! At the very end it showed a bloke at a piano and another playing a guitar singing the theme tune. It could have been Chas & Dave. I didn't think to look at the credits - they go past too fast, anyway.
