Credit. Detriment comes from a latin root which means: to pluck, draw-off, remove, lessen, take away. It's root term in English is to Detract. Gain works but it lacks the emotional shadow of a word like detriment. You can be a detriment to the team or a credit to the team. I'd go with credit.
