as long as u take care of ur nails then it looks very classy...i have black nails right now but they are not long, the color is very glossy and chip free and it matches everything i wear. i hate when it looks like a girl took a sharpie and just colored over her nails. as long as u use good quality polish (not the 99 cent stuff at cvs) that has some gloss and shine to it then it looks good...ur mom probably just has a stereotype about black nail polish and is afraid people might perceive u that way. my niece is the posterchild for hot pink, hollister and abercrombie but the second she put on black nail polish her mom thought she was turning into a gothic serial killer...its just a generation thing..my dad gives me looks when i wear it and im 22 years old! haha

show her fashion magazines and explain that dark colors are in this fall (the OPI russian nail polish suggestion is a great on by the way..the colors are gorgeous!)

Its as much as you purchase some low priced black nail polish placed it on and placed on it with an outfit you like. in case you think of it appears that evidently solid then tell something of the international to handle it and placed on it. I somewhat have considered a lot of black women persons in my place of work placed on black nail polish. Its as much as you.

Rachie, I'm way over 30 and I wear black and other dark colors. The one rule you MUST follow when wearing dark colors on nails is to keep them on the shorter side. I'm in NYC, and this look is IT right now.

Listen to r28hart, she's right on the money. I'm currently wearing OPI's Russian Navy on my nails. I LOVE IT!

Consider maybe looking at the OPI Russian collection. They have a line dedicated to dark colors like navy blue, deep purple, burgundy, and deep green. I suggest navy blue for you if you don't want to look goth/emo/whatever, and it's said to be the new black this season!

I don't like black, but I like realy dark burgundy because it goes with eveningwear or embelishment (like in the CHANEL shoot). The finish is nicer than just black. Looks nice chipped with the indie look, but only on stubby dirty fingernails. Only few people can wear black nails well.

I like it. It's femenine.
Just htat when me and my girlfriends were shopping for it, the shopkeeper person said that you werent able to buy it until you are 18.
It had some nasty chemicals in there that harms us teenagers (we're in our growing state)

so we didnt buy it. she said that all black nail polish had those chemicals in there

I don't care for it myself but I don't see anything wrong with it if you like it or it works with an outfit.
