I kept a cartoon on my bulletin board for years that said, "Don't read much. Hurts my brain." If you had read A Separate Peace you would know the answer to this question. People who read become more successful than people who don't. It's up to you.

From the time Finny enters the story until the end, he's constantly breaking the rules. He even breaks an unwritten rule at the end. Read the book. The answer is obvious.
