I have a friend who got married 3 weeks ago and she already wants a divorce. Is it possible for her to get divorced now that she is married? What process does she have to go through and how long will it take? Respectable answers pleas.

By the way, it was an "immigration" marriage. She did'nt wanna get deported. She never loved him to begin with and wants to find someone else because she realizes that she can't get along with this guy. Let me know what you folks think.

In most states an annulment is all that`s necessary for a marriage less than 30 days. Quick and easy at the courthouse.

The largest cause of divorce is marriage! If she married this poor man just to stay in America - that just does not say much for her character. If I were in his shoes, I would get the marriage annulled as soon as possible. YES she can get divorced on any day Monday - Friday when the courts are open and when she has money to spend for an attorney.

She can get the marriage annulled or get what is called a disillusionment. State laws vary, however once the papers are signed and filed it usually takes about a month for the court date.
In order for this to happen as quickly as possible, both parties need to be amicable. They need to decide who gets what from the household.
Also, when the paperwork is signed the state views the couple as single not married.

She can get a divorce, but she may find herself being deported, too. You have to stay married to someone for two years, living in the same household to stay in the country.

Gee was she drunk when she got married!!? 3 wks is a very short marriage. Seriously, i think she may want to see about an annulment. I don't know never heard of anyone's marriage being that short before. Maybe she just needs to think of the reasons she got married in the first place. Maybe talk to her husband , he may feel the same.

yes its possible.YOu dont remmeber the brittany spears situation, with her 1st "husband"?Your friend can find a lawyer and tell him that her husband left her and she dont know where he is and that she wants a divorce. He will put an ad in the paper and it will be directed for him to respond in a few days(so it would be better for her not to alert her husband about that so he wont be looking for it) and if he doesnt, the lawyer will take the next step for the divorce to be final without her husbands consent.Good Luck

The only way it would be possible for anyone to get a divorce is if they are married.........Of course she can get a divorce. She just has to file the necessary paperwork. If she doesn't know how to go about it, she needs to call a family law attorney in her area. They can help her out.

she needs to write a judge in her county and ask for the divorce, also if she had a priest and a rabbi sign the letter and have it notorized, it would help a lot. thats what i would start out doing and then if that dosen't work out for u, go buy urself a new car. good luck.
