Reading creates and strengthens synapses in the brain. Not only will you most likely find the information you are looking for, but you will also increase your overall intelligence.if you are taking in what you are reading you are gaining knowledge.Reading is factual and interesting!

The only disadvantage is that you may learn something that goes against what you have thought all of your life and this may make you wonder a lot. Plus some things may question your moral and religious beliefs. So you don't have to believe everything you read--new things are discovered each day and some informational books are out dated and often not always researched objectively.
Plus others may think that you are a nerd..:) JUST KIDDING!!!!

So reading novels is not a bad habit but it has both advantages and disadvantages.Gud going!!!

On the good side: an increased vocabulary; an openness to explore new places and different opinions; knowledge about life beyond your own; and a strong imagination.

On the bad side: decreased social interaction; lack of physical exercise; depression -- you may feel let down after finishing a really good book and don't know what to read next. Books are expensive, too. USE YOUR LIBRARY!

Still, I'd rather read than watch TV.

Well, your imagination will be exercised because your brain has to make up all the pictures. Depending on the novels, you might think about what happens to the characters and find out something about your associates and maybe even yourself. You may even find yourself enjoying the process.

You might get smarter, have your mind expanded and maybe take a little imaginary journey. You get to learn about interesting characters and meet new kinds of people. You can gain insight into why someone thinks as they do. AND you just might enjoy yourself in the process!

sometimes we get so absorbed with what we read, to the point that we often imagine we are actually one of the characters in the novel we read... hope one can differentiate between imagination and what is real...
