As a person who use to work for Piercing Pagoda this is thier policy. THe child must be 8 weeks old and have her first round of shots. There is nothing to worry about. These places have to follow OSHA regulations and go through training classes. I recommend you do it when there are 2 people in the store that way they do it on one shot. Also take a bottle with you do she can have comfort when you are done (unless you breastfed). SHe is going to cry just like when she gets her shots. Good Luck and if you have any questions let me know.

This is more of a cultural opinion than a concrete "the aap says" type question.
My daughter's pediatrician said 6 months, and they do it in their office - I personally would never take my infant to the mall to have her ears pierced by some 18yr old at an accessories store!!
My pediatrician did mine when I was 2 months.
Many will say wait until she's old enough to ask for it... maybe her 7th birthday?
My personal advice: check w/ your pediatrician, if they don't do in the office, wait until she's old enough to want it for her birthday then make a "girlie make-over day" at the mall out of it :)

this is really a personal choice, based on your beliefs.
I have seen tiny babies with their ears done ..... Some women view getting it done as abuse at a young age, but dont see the baby boys circumcision as a form of abuse. I'm not against either........ I think its the parents choice. Ear piercing is really no big deal, doesn't really hurt.
I myself waited until my daughter expressed a desire to have this done..... we talked about what she would have to do to care for them, then she chose it was what she wanted. So I took her to get it done.
She takes care of them without being told to do so, and just loves them....... That was the choice i made....... Your her mom you just need to chose what is best for you and your family.

At least 3 month. Need to have the first shots in to ensure it have a stronger immune system. I will recommend wait until month, it better. That what our doctor recommended. At + the ears are to small to centralized the earrings at 3mth.

Some of the hospitals around here actually offer that service after the baby's birth so I think your little girl should be just fine but you can check with her pediatrician just to be sure.

She can get her ears pierced now. I know babies younger than her that have had their ears pierced.

you can get them pierced right after she is born. Just remember you have to take care of them by cleaning and rotating the new earings

your choice but i would wait until she no longer pulls on her ears or until the age of three where she no longer puts things in her mouth. i would hate for to see or know your daughter has just swallowed her ear ring.
