I am currently 33+4 weeks pregnant and haven´t put on any weight for at least 6 weeks. When I went on the scales this morning I have actually now shed a few pounds. My baby is still very active and my bump is growing steadily. I have been diagnosed with pre natal depression and have now been put on medication. I probably haven´t been eating as much as I should´ve been although I am trying to eat more. Is it right that I should be losing weight instead of gaining it at this stage of my pregnancy?

As long as baby is growing fine, it really doesn't matter what the scale says.

First off, congratulations!

Now; yes, you should be gaining weight at this stage. Not a lot, but a little, as your baby grows. What does your ob/gyn think about your weight loss? If you haven't spoken to him/her about this (if this has happened in-between visits), you should call and mention it. As long as the baby is okay, things should be fine.

My friend has acid reflux, and when she was pregnant she couldn't take her meds for it, so for months it was very difficult for her to eat. She lost weight early on, then slowly gained it. She just ate a little bit (a bite here and there) whenever she felt she could. If you're trying to sit down to a meal, maybe try little nibbles of something you like (or can stomach) throughout the day.

:)

you should be gaining weight as the baby grows. Sounds like the baby is growing but you are actually losing weight. Try to start eating healthy because its better for both you and the baby.

A lot of women lose weight in the later stages. Your stomach is very squished right now, which doesn't lend well to eating. :)

i agree with janeannpat
as long as the baby is good and healthy then there should be no worries..and if Dr says so too.
just think those are a few more pounds that you don't have to shed later!
as always if it is truly bothering you though ask your DR...that's what they are there for!
good luck and CONGRATS!
