I am looking to add a player plugin to simply play 1 track looped on a client website as background music. The most important features i need are the ability to change the look and feel of the player to match the website and that the track does not restart when visitors click links to different pages in the website. Does anyone have any players or advice they can recommend ?

The very first advice about music on a website is " DON'T " !
If you really want to put one, make it silent to start with, and start it only if the user click on something, KNOWING that this will start the music.
Unless you are a "radio station", it has been proven that sites with music see their visit count drop by 40%...
For the player, you have a choice:
- use an existing embedded player object: by clicking on the music link, this will start the LOCAL player (the one installed on the client's machine).
- use a downloaded player (that the user must download before playing)
- Design your own, the simplest being through Macromedia Flash player 8. You can change the look of it at the click of a (few) buttons. See some samples on www.skytargets.com, web designs, samples, or www.tinmandownloads.com (another design with a slim embedded player).

You can use The Music Hutch http://www.themusichutch.com/ to upload and search music and then copy the embed code into your myspace profile. You can add unlimited songs to your playlist.
