I believe that regardless of our President we should as a nation support that person. We may not always agree with their decisions but the choices they make are ones that are made based on information they receive from their staff. The office of President shoulders huge responsibilites, stress, and constant criticism. We need to unite and stand strong or otherwise we'll be like other countries. I'm not defending or judging our President but I do think we need to Unite . I'm saying this not to be offensive to you or anyone else. This country is the Greatest, Let's support our President! God should be included in everything we do, without God we would not exist....

I don't know what the answer would be to terrorist blowing up a building in the middle of Downtown New York City. I don't know what the response should be to the loss of 345 emergency workers, some who volunteered to enter that battle zone that day. I don't know what the response to the loss of 1000's of people, not just America's, our brothers, our sisters, wives, mothers, daughters and sons. The fabric that is America changed that horrible day. The day those towers fell. I don't know what I would of done as the President as the United States. It's hard to say what's the best course of action for the President to take, remembering that he has advisers, for we have never been attacked in such a horrible matter. The last time being Pearl Harbor, although the loss was devastating, it was no where near, the scope that was 9/11. So to answer your question with a question, what would you have done?

The Presidents popularity is always high immediately following a major event like that. It's part of that whole solidarity "United We Stand" crap.
The American public has the attention span of the average 2 year old. That stuff never lasts no matter who the President is or what decisions he makes.
Post 9/11 you'd have found the majority of the country in favor of invading any country where Islam was the top religion. Several years later and the opinion is the exact opposite.
Of course, we blame the administration, but then they can't adjust foreign policy as quickly as the American public waffles back and forth on various issues.

I can see why you would think that. Unfortunately, I feel at the time he was the best candidate for the job. I do not feel that Kerry would have done any better.
He just did not have any potential. Another case of wrong place at wrong time. We needed a no nonsense, balls to the walls, strongly opinionated president with no history or friends in Washington. With his father being president prior, he had Friends, enemies, opinions and people in his back pocket already. Would have worked better during a peaceful time.
I know, you all do not agree, but that's my simple mind seeing what I see!

I believe he will go down as one of the best Presidents in history. President Bush has accomplished more than most want to give him credit for. He is a freedom President! He is a man of integrity and all the foreign leaders know that. He has kept American safe. The Democrates have done their level best to discredit President Bush, and as a result, they have brought harm on our country. They will go down in history as a party that undermined the war, brought harm to our soldiers, and spent precious time trying to take down the Bush Administration. They stoled classified documents, hid money in a freezer, lied, and earned the title "Cultural of Corruption".....and "Do Nothing Congress". When voted in, they broke every campaign promise to the people. President Bush has continued to work for the people to the very end, even advising the Democates on foreign policy if they should win the White House. Bush truly cares for the safety of the America people! He is a great President!

His whole Presidency has been staged and orchestrated by Dick Cheney and KKKarl Rove. Bush is simply a hick with a low IQ and a rich , former President Daddy. Bush is a puppet and cannot even speak full sentences without an earpiece or a script in front of him.

The first mistake he made is slightly forgivable, going to war against Afghanistan. And I do mean slightly.
What is unforgivable is the war in Iraq.
I had to hand it to Bush, I thought that he had done a masterful job in getting the inspectors in unimpeded to put the WMD issue to bed once and for all. Massing tens of thousands of troops on the boarder made Saddam wet his pants. Saddam capitulated and in came the inspectors, inspecting all the places our intelligence gave them and they came up empty.
Then Bush had a presidential temper tantrum, screaming bloody murder everyone was lying to him, then lied to the people, our government, and the world and invaded.
That is when Bush screwed the pooch.
That will be Bush's legacy, one of going from supreme leader to supreme screw up.
Peace
Jim

I agree it could have been a major point for his presidency. Its unfortunate he chose the "I am the best and I can do no wrong" mentality that he did.
