I want my room to be dark. Just a wee bit of light filtering in from a nightlight in the hallway.
Hubby & I are seniors and we get up during the night.
We need to have some sense of direction.
Least we wind up in the wrong place. LOL ~~~~~

I'm with Meagan in that it would be impossible to be in total darkness here unless you wanted to nail boards over your windows or something. Even when the power goes out, low, yellow, solar-powered, security lights come on. They are actually harder to sleep with because you're not used to them.

There's never quiet in this city, either. At night there's a lot of trucks on the highway and occasional stereos, sirens, and alarms seem all the louder. As a result I'm accustomed to falling asleep with the tv on. It's the white noise that keeps the odd ruckus and passing headlights from waking me up at the half-way point. I set the sleep timer for an hour, so once I'm totally out, it doesn't waste electricity.

the other night I counted 22 different tiny lights in the room. so I guess it is NOT total darkness. Then the security light comes on outside when a deer passes through and lights up the entire neighborhood.

Although I am totally afraid of the dark, I am fine once I get in bed and prefer total darkness. I just don't open my eyes to see the creature that might be lurking in my room.
