I would disagree but that would make me a racist.

It's absurd to categorically state that, because someone has a particular opinion about one player that you happen to like, automatically it is racist.
I believe McNabb is a good QB. I might even call him a very good QB. I would not call him a great QB and i definitely wouldn't call him one of the best of all time.
This isn't baseball. Numbers and stats do not tell the whole story in football. Numbers are important and they do indicate that McNabb is good. He is clearly not the 13th best QB of all time and this has nothing to do with his race.
Before last season, many people said that Peyton Manning could not be placed among the best QB's of all time if he never wins the big one. Last I checked, he was white.
They said the same thing about Elway and I am pretty sure he is white too. Marino is the only QB that I think has been able to rise above that threshold and be considered among the elite without a title, fair or not.
There is no perfect way to rank QB's and this is a team sport. Mcnabb is a good QB and, at times, a very good QB. He has not been a great QB thus far. He does have the respect of many fans but he actually looses a little respect when he plays the race card instead of saying "hey, I could have played better".

The unfortunate thing for McNabb is that he is a black QB in a tough town. Philly has not won a championship in any pro sport in a longtime and anything less is viewed as a failure. It's not really fair to place so much blame, and expectation, on one (1) player. If asked, I bet over half of the teams in the NFL wished they had McNabb over who is starting for their team.
Is McNabb one (1) of the greatest QB's of all-time? I don't think so, not yet anyway. Great QB's play each week with generally the same level of consistency and McNabb, to this point, has been up and down too much.
Some cite that he does not have a SB Ring. While that is a good measure, it is not the only measure. SB Rings have more to do with team performance than individual accomplishments. Marino and Tarkenton are two (2) of the greatest to ever play, but their franchises never could quite get to the top position. And for Elway, he never would have gotten a Ring without Terrell Davis.

I'm not a fan of the Eagles, but I do like McNabb as a quarterback. Is he one of the greatest of all-time? I would say no. He's above average, and he isn't mediocre, but he has too many downfalls to be one of the greats. For one, he is injury prone. Unfortunately, he is also one of the most inconsistent QB's you'll find. He's hot one game, does nothing the next two, and so on. Another one of his problems is that he isn't a terrific leader, and he places blame when things go wrong. It's either him throwing the O-Line under the bus if he's rushed, or blaming some other random factor.
As we also know, football is a game where you are respected for winning. Marino didn't win, yeah yeah, but his numbers are , or were until recently, the greatest of all-time. McNabb failed year after year in the NFC Championship, before finally getting one shot at the big one.
I mean just off the top of my head..
Joe Montana
Dan Marino
Brett Favre
Johnny Unitas
Bart Starr
Terry Bradshaw
John Elway
Troy Aikman
I honestly don't feel comfortable putting McNabb next to those names. I mean heck, he isn't even the greatest black quarterback of all-time. I would take Warren Moon over McNabb.
Like I've stated, McNabb isn't some average run of the mill QB, and I think the fans in Philly are a little too hard on him, but let's face it, he isn't great.

No, he's not one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
He's not a bad quarterback, he's not a great quarterback. He's mediocre.
Are you basing this on what he did in Detroit. If so, you need to do more research. His average quarterback rating for all games is 85.5, only .3 above Favre, but he's only played 107 games compaired to Favre's 244. If he can continue to do to other teams what he did against Detroit, for several seasons, then he will start to move up into the greatest rankings, but otherwise 13th is really not that great. Let me know when he gets in the top five. And to say that he's a great runner doesn't add up to much. Quarterbacks are judged more by their passing than their running. Being able to run really well doesn't make you a great quarterback, it makes you a great runningback, lol. Otherwise, Vick must be the best quarterback of all time, right? Also, McNabb tends to get injured quite a bit. Kind of hard to be on the greatest list when you've only played three full seasons out of eight. Let's see if he can stay in for all the games this year...

Look at these, side-by-side, and maybe you'll see why he's only mediocre.

Football is the ultimate team sport and McNabb rarely had the WR around him to make him the best. The best QBs right now are Brady, Peyton, Farve and Romo this season. All these QBs have great WR to throw the ball to. When McNabb had TO he was one of the greatest. Philly has not given him a chance to pad his stats but if you look at how many times he has carried his team to the NFC championship game with no clear #1 WR it is remarkable but no one will remember because has not won the Super bowl. He wins one or two and will jump to great status.

Mr. McNabb is an excellent QB, but look who he is contending with that are currently active: Brady, Favre, P. Manning, Palmer. Now look at the QB's that are retired: Marino, Montana, Young, Bradshaw, Staubach, Elway. You have to look at the whole picture not just passer ratings. How about winning percentages, playoff appearances, super bowls, conference champs. If he is 13th in career passer ratings, then he is above average, but not in the top 10. He breaks the top 10 then I will agree he is one of the best all time. There are some of those QBs that are under the radar in passer ratings, but I believe are a lot better than Mr. McNabb. Until then, be happy with above average. There are a lot of QBs that would love to be rated as above average in comparison to their peers.

Passer rating doesn't make you one of the best QBs ever. That's one stat out of a hundred. Certainly doesn't make him better than Favre, Staubach, and Aikman. McNabb needs to stay healthy a few years before he'll come anywhere close to matching those guys. And guess what else those guys have that McNabb doesn't? A Superbowl ring.
That said, I actually agree with McNabb that black QBs are treated differently than white ones. And I am NOT saying McNabb is a mediocre QB. Anyone who says that is either an idiot or a racist. But I AM saying that he has a long way to go to be considered "clearly" one of the best QB's of all time. Just off the top of my head I can think of 15 guys I'd put ahead of him: Graham, Unitas, Favre, Montana, Manning, Brady, Elway, Staubach, Bradshaw, Marino, Starr, Namath, Aikman, Tarkenton, Baugh, and possibly Warren Moon.
There IS a disproportionate amount of black QBs on that list. It's a travesty that black quarterbacks were not given much of a chance until the past decade or so. But that doesn't make McNabb one of the best QBs ever. Give him a few years and see what he does. And remember this important fact: most of the guys on my list above either won championships, or had multiple appearances in the Superbowl. The exceptions have a LOT better overall career stats than McNabb. But they also played a long time.

As an Eagles fan I can honestly say that McNabb has disappointed me more often than not. He has rarely come through when it counts. Numbers don't mean a thing unless it equates to championships. McNabb has none. NFC titles are a far cry from winning Super Bowls. As far as I'm concerned McNabb is NOT a money QB.
Concerning his racial remarks, playing the race card doesn't change the fact that he's a marginal QB at best. Frankly people are sick and tired of the black/white thing. I know I am.

he's definitely suitable 5. And who ever suggested Philip Rivers is retarded. i'm a chargers fan and rivers sucks under stress. Champ Bailey even suggested that he's no longer sturdy the gamers around him are sturdy which make him seem better than he's. anyhow while healthful McNabb's great. and picture approximately while he has a stable aim to throw to like to they have been given to the great Bowl. think of of each and all the "sturdy" qbs all of them have marvelous wideouts and actual now McNabb has might-be 2nd stringers, at ultimate. besides a million. or 2. Brady or Manning 3. Palmer 4. McNabb 5. Homo, i mean Romo (won't have the capacity to even win a playoff activity with each and all the expertise around him it rather is why he's under McNabb while McNabb had to they went to the SB Romo's had him for 2 years on a miles better team and no playoff wins) 6. Brees 7. Garrad 8. enormous Ben twentieth. Hasselbeck

McNabb is an above average QB when he is healthy. He just cant stay healthy. The last few years his numbers and team are both mediocre. Its not racism its just the truth. He put up pretty good numbers a few years ago when they were good. He does not compare to Farve, Aikman, Staubach or those guys you list though. They won Super Bowls and MVPs. McNabb won't.
