when i go to close my pages they freeze and a message pops up saying internet explorer has stopped working,it comes back on but it's happening regularly,any advice helpful please

i have norton and i've checked for viruses and run windows defender,it says alls ok

Hi. This could be a virus or spyware issue. To check, go to www.grisoft.com and type in 'free' in the searchbox at the top. Then download and install avg (antivirus) and run it on your system.

Also, go to www.lavasoft.com and download the free version of AdAware and install it and run it and see if it finds anything.

It might be Norton itself causing the problem. It takes up a huge amount of system resources, your computer may simply not be able to work properly because of Norton. Just an idea.

Are you using Windows Vista? because that is one of the bugs that Microsoft are working on at the moment along with ridiculously long file copying times.

As Bustup says - or try a different browser - Mozilla is much more stable than IE and more secure too!

Download Firefox browser, it seems to be more solid and doesn't crash as often as Internet Explorer, you can download it free from: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

try deleting unwanted files and folders
check out any spam viruses and so on

You may have left a disk in any of you D, R or floppy in your p.c. . There are different reasons for that...
