I own a chrysler new yorker 1988 and it sags in the back of my car but the small airbags in the back that originally came with it have no holes rips or tears the hoses seem fine to give it air when i turn my car on the generator to pump them up makes a noise to make the back end go up then its a little better but i was looking under there and after about 15 seconds after it pumps air to them it makes like a click noise then it sags back down again the noise comes from the air compressor thing but when i first got the car it never did this what could be wrong so theres no leaks or holes so what?

Rear Air suspension, i had tha same type on my Lincoln TownCar...

If over a small amount of time it begins to sag after a pump up from the compressor,- while you drive, or are in traffic, >>>this is a very small leak somewhere on the air spring "bag", you might have to remove it to find it...(I had same exact problem)

the rest of the system should be fine but being a 20 year old car, i say it' the air bag's "springs"

try Rockauto.com for parts, or you might have to call your Chrysler dealer...

best wishes! it might be pretty expensive if you get this work done, otherwise you should be able to DIY.

I can assure you ther are holes either in the rubber boots or the lines going to them. 20 year old cars are like that. If the compressor works replace the air shocks or bags first. That is where the most wear and tear occurs. then lines and compressor pump.... Good Luck

If you want to short cut like that, just replace the air system junk (that is what it is) with coil springs that were an option for that car. Factory coils will work just fine. The point of the system is to adjust to the needs of the vehicle. Keeping the bags aired defeats that purpose. Load up the car and see for yourself.

there is a way to replace them with regular springs and i would suggest that you consider doing that
