At the back side of both hard discs, there should be some small pins and a plastic thing which has covered some pins and others are free.

Which pins have been vovered by this little plasting thing, specifies whether that hard disc should be seen as master or slave.

Some hard discs, have got a small table at the back side ( next to the pins ) and there you can see exactly which pins should be covered for making the hard dics as master or slave. Just follow that table

If, it does not have that table, so you have to try it out by yourself.
Leave the master one as how it is, turn your pc offand start covering the first 2 pins on the otherhard disc, turn the pc on and see if you got one master and one slave as you wished, if it did not work, turn it off again, and try covering another possibility of covering pins.

Keep doing it until when you switch on your pc,, you have one master and one slave hard disc.
Remember, its all the matter of covering correct pins, so you do Not need to do any extra thing.

I know it may take a bit time till you found out the correct position but once you found it, so you know it ever after

good luck :)

If you have correctly set the jumpers on BOTH your drives and connected your ribbon and your power to both drives it should pick up your second drive and give it a letter. The original drive must have the jumpers set to "only drive/master" and the second drive jumpers MUST be set to "slave"
