The orange light keeps flashing on my ipod shuffle when on the docking station & wont download music onto it?

I had about the same thing happen to me. I had bought a Shuffle in December, used it for ~14 hours per week for 6 months and then it wouldn't play songs. The lights would flash as if there were no songs on it. I know it had songs but the Shuffle wouldn't recognize them. I called Apple Care 1-800-SOS-APPL. They suggested I try the restore feature in iTunes. I did that several times.... no luck. I finally called them back, gave them my case # and they shipped me a new one (and I sent the defective one back). You'll need a credit/debit card when you call so they can guarantee that you'll return the old one.

make sure that the type of music files you are putting in are suppoerted by the shuffle . see if your headphones are not broken and also make sure it is charged if this does not work then it may be defective if so the warrenty should cover it and you can get a new one (just as a hint sansa sells an mp3 player for the same price but has a screen and you can listen to the radio and is arround the same size of the oldr model of shuffles)

It should only go orange until it charges up and then goes green after a short while.

If it wont transfer songs and u r using the application correctly then u have a dud.
