dictaphones and MP3 or 4 players?

i want to get a dictaphone. having surfed a bit i found that some MP3 players have voice recording attributes. olympus do a good range of dictaphone. i want the ones where i can use a USB to store voice recordings on my laptop and then to CD or memory stick. has anyone else used a dictaphone? or voice recording MP3 player? in the £50 range. (or less if poss)

Overstock.com have one for USD$79.95, should be less than 50 quids with the current exchange rate, though no idea about shipping. It's a refurb though.

I remember Dictaphones when they used flexible cards to record the audio signal on parallel strips on the cards.
