Apparently, if you put a conker in the corner of each room it keeps them out! Ive never tried it but is supposed to be a good deterrent.

if you live in the country or you can drive to the country you can get hedge apples they are along the road side you can't miss them they are about the size of a grapefruit and put them outside along your house and they keep bugs out. If not there is an electronic device you can plug in and it makes a high pitch sound (only bugs can hear) this is what we use at our cabin we have some major wolf spiders down there. Good luck I hate spiders too!

Find the spider in charge and tell him if he and all his mates so much as put one of their feet inside your house again, youre going to flush them down the toilet.
That should do the trick.
Faililing this, you'll need around 20+ people with a brick each to work in shifts covering every hole and crack in your house. As the spiders come in - squash 'em with the brick.
Sounds tricky i know and you might be better sticking to finding the spider in charge.

Wipe all your surfaces with Lemon essence which you can buy from the supermarket in the baking section. Otherwise, wipe the surfaces down with diluted lemon juice - this includes your ceiling - use a broom dipped in lemon juice to do your ceiling. Spiders will not walk across surfaces wiped down in this way.

I don't think you can stop them getting in but there are preventative methods i.e. buy a cat. Cats love spiders and will eat them all.

You cannot. And they are not harmful anyway. At least for spiders dwelling in houses.

You generally can't stop them coming in, but there are ultrasonic devices that make it unbearable for them to stay, so they then bugger off. They're around £20 from places like Maplins (also on web)
