Uh, because they're normal?
It takes effort to be responsible, meet expectations, pay bills on time, hire sitters for your kids or not go out, etc.
Part of the tangible benefit of this is that you don't get teased and mocked. Self-respect and gratitude from kids, coworkers, employer, etc. comes as a welcome bonus.
It's like the benefits of a diet high in fiber and low in refined sugars with no sodas, along with conscientious dental hygeine. The person has enviable teeth, with few cavities, for a long time. And probably less chance of cancer and heart attacks. They're not lucky; they are 'normal.'
Hooray for NORMAL!

what do you mean by normal? everybody is different, if you mean popular people it'll be because they're very confident and could easily tease and mock you back but you may not mean popular people. everyone would have gotten teased or mocked at some point in their life, even the most confident.

I think everyone has been teased,mocked or made fun of at one point of time in life. I just think its how you react to it. If you act like it doesnt bother you and ignore it, it makes that person who is trying to belittle you even more upset because its like you are too busy in your life and too content to even pay attention to anyones negativity. It's has alot about how you present yourself also.
I hope no one is making fun of you or teasing you or causing you any troubles. If the person is of the opposite sex they may have a crush on you.

im one of those 'normal people' who dont get teased and mocked.
in my opinion its because i answer this question
"why would i be?"
yeah what for example that guy has like 4 BMWs and shows it off...
"who cares? i dont freakin care about BMWs anyway cuz i got my own car already and im satisfied besides..arent cars mainly for transportation?"
its pretty simple ^_^ and...yeah if that guy keeps on going with the bragging...he'll die doing that to me cuz it wont do anything ^^
