i don't mind escalators but I'm scared to go in a lift, i can cope with a big lift or a glass one if i'm only going up a couple of floors. i hate tiny lifts, too claustrophobic it freaks me out.

I was stuck in a lift once and I found it terrifying. I'm claustrophobic. The lights went off, I had no idea which floor I was stuck at and it took ages to get through to someone on the emergency phone (mobile had no service.) I was in there for around an hour but it seemed a hell of a lot longer. I still use lifts but I don't like them much.

I was stuck in a lift at my old workplace for 2 hours. I rang the bells and called for help but no one found me till 6 o'clock when everyone was leaving and a few collegues were worried because I had vanished for several hours and they couldn't find me anywhere. They eventually checked the lift.

I couldn't go in a lift for a long time afterwards, but I'm not too bad now and will only avoid lifts that look a bit run down.

Nah not really bothered about lifts or stairs, I once got trapped in a lift it was one of those small silver ones and I was with a contractor who must have been the most boring man on the planet I was in ther for an hour and when the engineer turned up to let us out could have kissed him.

I love escalators and I don't really mind lifts. I do hate it though when kids get in and start jumping up and down and you can hear all the cables jangling but their mothers are just standing there laughing!
I went with my uncle when he got a new passport maybe 12 years ago, I can't remember where exactly, and the lift was one of those old ones that keep going round and you just had to jump on and off. Needless to say we took the stairs!!

Not afraid just wearie I use lifts and escolators but I am careful getting on and off esccolators and tell my self lifts are safe but are relieved when I get out and prove my self right. Its silly as my dad was a lift driver in the city of london in the 1950s and as a small child I would visit him and ride up and down all day.

Lifts are no problem they normally have an alarm if they fail, the trouble arises because no -one will answer it or they take too long.Moving stairs are very useful for the incapacitated and sheer lazy bones. The only problem is ,you must be careful with any trailing clothing or suchlike and prevent it from getting trapped in the machinery.

I try to use the stairs just for my health, but i am afraid on escalators, that my clothing might get caught and i would hate to see the damage done but that. i do like elevators, and there is a really cool on at eh resort near my house that is completely Glass, its fun to go up in the winter to look at all the pretty Christmas lights we do it every year with the kids) but i sometimes am afraid that the glass might break,, and i might fall out or something, and it makes me nervous!!! but i normally am not scared of them just cautious

Am little bit nervous of lifts. I go up them if other people are in there but very rarely on my own. I am scared of getting trapped in one. Moving stairs don't bother me though.
