The audio quality will be dependent on the sound card and the speakers of you PC. On a Laptop the audio quality might sound like a clock radio, on a Gaming PC it might Rival a Pioneer surrond sound system. Most high end gaming systems have an option of surrond sound now a days, but the default is about halfway between the two examples.

If you use CD player in PC with analog audio, it will be same as play in REAL CD player (PCM Stereo, 16bit, 44100Hz)
If you want better sound, get a good soundcard (maybe soundblaster) and a set of good speaker (2.1 should do the good job)
