Traveling there on 4th Oct for five days and want to see a game what is the best team to see and how much for tickets.

These would be during the American League and National League Division Series.
The Yankees will definitely be playing at least one game at home during that time, and the Mets are still fighting to secure a spot in the playoffs. No dates are certain as of yet. That will depend on the final win-loss record of each team.
Both teams are great to see, can't go wrong with either one. I'm a Mets fan, but seeing Yankees playoff baseball would also be fun. Playoff baseball in New York is a highly-charged, very exciting atmosphere.
That said, it's also expensive, and tickets are VERY difficult to obtain. Most tickets have probably been sold already. Visit each team's playoff ticket information site (links below) for more information.
The Mets have already closed their registration for purchasing NLDS tickets. The Yankees will release all remaining ALDS tickets (if any) for sale to the general public tomorrow. Sites like StubHub and eBay might soon be the only way to obtain tickets for these games.

Yes they will dude you need to watch TV more they clinched the playoff berth

It will be in the playoffs then and you will have to pay attention. tickets will go fast if there are any.
